Giro Gauge Mountain Shoes (Black) (43)

Giro Gauge Mountain Shoes Description:

The Giro Gauge Mountain Shoes blend excellent durability and modern performance with a decidedly classic appearance. A one-piece, seamless Synchwire upper combines supple synthetic materials with mesh panels and reinforcements around the toes and heel for increased breathability, fast dry times, and durability. In charge of securing the riders foot within the shoe is a classic shoe lace closure, and a lace keeper on the tongue tucks the lace loops out of the way so they won’t get stuck in the drivetrain or get snagged by branches and other trail obstacles. On the bottom, a co-molded rubber outsole and stout injection molded inner shank provide efficient pedaling with impressive durability, grip, and traction when walking off the bike. Finally, these shoes will accept any 2-bolt clipless pedal cleat, and a supportive EVA footbed keeps the feet happy throughout a fun day spent slaying the trails.

Features:

• Shoes that blend clipless pedal compatibility and the support of a cycling shoe with the comfort and appearance of a trail-running shoe
• Synchwire one-piece upper is made out of synthetic fibers and mesh and is comfortable, durable, and well-ventilated
• Rockprint reinforced toe and a synthetic heel overlay boost the abrasion resistance, durability, and protection for the foot
• Classic shoe lace closure has excellent security and will require very little adjusting on the fly, and a lace keeper on the tongue secures the extra laces to keep them from getting snagged by trail obstacles or caught in the drivetrain
• Dual injected rubber outsole with an aggressive lug pattern has excellent traction when traversing hike-a-bike trail sections and when walking around
• Stout injection-molded nylon inner shank is very stiff which will prevent numbness caused by the foot flexing around a pedal as well as transferring more of the rider’s energy to the pedals
• Supportive die-cut EVA footbed enhances comfort for long days on the bike
• Long cleat mounting slots makes it easier to find the optimal cleat position to balance comfort and performance (cleats are sold separately)
• Includes a removeable nylon cover to protect the cleat mounting area if using these shoes with flat pedals
